Casemiro announced this was his final season with the Red Devils and even though he is putting one of the best show he’s had all his career, the emotional farewell looks set to take place despite calls from United fans asking for one more year.
The search has begun for the Brazilian’s replacement as INEOS have already hinted on a midfield revamp this summer. The club has already targeted a number of players in the Premier League who could be pulled to Old Trafford. There is fellow Brazilian, Bruno Guimarães whose agents seem to have had talks with United. Bruno’s teammate, Tonali, also eyes a move away from Newcastle and his box-to-box attribute is something Casemiro offered United and they will be looking to take the Italian at Manchester.
Other names mentioned include Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson who has also attracted interest from the blue side of Manchester, Adam Wharton, Stiller, and Cole Palmer.
As they weigh their options, INEOS has added Aurélien Tchouaméni to its list of midfield options. The Frenchman could be convinced of a move away from Madrid as did Varane and Casemiro before him. Tchouaméni has a £70 million+ valuation and that does not look like a bad bargain for Manchester United considering how much they have spent on players who never delivered as they would expect.
The 26 year old has already won 9 major trophies with Real Madrid and the French national team and it is expected that United could get him to join their Champions League pursuit, a place which they seem to have secured as it stands.
As Casemiro’s potential replacement, Squawka did a like-for-like comparison between Casemiro and Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Tchouaméni clearly excels in ball recoveries, interceptions, ground duel successes, aerial duel success, and passing accuracy with the latter being a very important attribute for a team like United. Statman Dave pointed so many reasons why United will benefit from purchasing Tchouaméni as Casemiro’s replacement and the passing range he has was hinted as an important part of the game.
United need Bruno to find spaces and thread passes. Mainoo who’s in the midfield as well does not have a great passing range as he thrives in pocket of spaces and 1-2 link ups. Getting Tchouaméni eases the burden of finding wingers on the run which seems to be Bruno Fernandes’ job.
