Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad 2-1 in La Liga despite playing with 10 men for nearly an hour after Huijsen was sent off for pulling Mikel Oyarzabal’s jersey in the 32nd minute.
The red card was keenly contested by the Spanish defender and Xabi Alonso who claimed Huijsen and Oyarzabal were not the last players in front of the Real Madrid goal.
Before the red card, Madrid were on the front foot with Mbappe laying the ball off for an Arda Guler goal which was canceled because Mbappe strayed offside.
But that proved to not be the end of their interaction – Mbappe and Guler.
For the first goal, the Frenchman intercepted a misplaced pass from Mikel Goti who was having his first senior start in La Liga, and fired it past Alex Remiro.
We saw the interaction between Mbappe and Guler again when they linked up to score before halftime.
At the start of the second half, Sociedad kept hammering Real Madrid in search of a response which was rewarded when Carvajal handled a cross from Barrenetxea. Oyarzabal scored the resulting penalty, sending Courtois the wrong way.
Courtois made several remarkable saves to keep the scoreline 2-1 despite the pressure from La Real in the closing stages of the match.
Real Madrid extends their perfect start to the season while Real Sociedad still hope to get to winning ways this season.
