In his pre-match conference as Chelsea visit the Gtech Community Stadium to face Brentford, Enzo Maresca has provided details on the Liam Delap injury situation.
Delap suffered an injury in the early stages during Chelsea vs Fulham nearly a fortnight ago. Maresca can confirm that the striker will be out for about 10-12 weeks.
He is not expected to be back with the team until early December.
Delap’s injury almost stopped Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich but by recalling Marc Guiu who was already on loan with Sunderland, Maresca feels confident he has enough depth in his squad, allowing Jackson to join the German club.
Chelsea may not miss the striker’s absence as they have Joao Pedro covering up in the number 9 position already.
