There is no confirmed report on the extent of the damage done to the right back’s leg after the came off injured just five minutes into Real Madrid’s opening Champions League fixture against Marseille.
However, we can confirm what the injury was really about and it is the fact that the English man sustained a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg and what that means for him is that he could be out for 4-8 weeks but that also depends on the extent of the damage.
Some injuries like this take months to heal and if he needs to undergo surgery, he could be out until after the January transfer window. More updates will be made when it is confirmed how long the healing would take.
For now, Xabi Alonso would make do with Dani Carvajal during La Liga games and may look to play Valverde as right back until the captain serves his red card suspension for a cynical headbutt to Marseille’s goalkeeper, Geronimo Rulli.
