Manchester United’s Hierarchy Backs Ruben Amorim Despite Shocking Stats

Manchester United Backs Ruben Amorim Despite Shocking Stats

After the 3-0 Derby defeat last Sunday, everyone expected Ruben Amorim to be relieved of his duties as Manchester United’s manager but reports coming out of Carrington suggests that United is sticking with Amorim.

In his post-match conference on Sunday, Amorim insisted he was not going to change his philosophy and hinted that if Manchester United needs a different game plan, they’ll have to change the man, suggesting he would prefer being sacked than having to adapt a new pattern of playing.

That could have been the final straw for the Portuguese but this evening we have cause to believe that he still has the full backing and support of the Manchester United hierarchy as Samuel Luckhurst reported.

Since Amorim took over United on matchday 12 in the 2024/2025 season, he has only mustered 31 points from 31 games with a -13 goal difference. According to Opta Analyst, no ever-present Premier League team have performed worse than Manchester United.
