The World Cup Qualifiers were expected to take a toll on players and Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are among the number of people counting their woes after star striker Omar Marmoush picked up an injury in Burkina Faso vs Egypt yesterday.
Marmoush was forced off the pitch in the ninth minute of the game and was replaced by Osama Faisal. Reports from the Egyptian national team suggests that it is a knee injury and the Manchester City forward will be returning to Manchester where he will undergo further assessment to verify the extent of damage done and how much time it will take for the rehabilitation.
This may not entirely be a blow to Manchester City as they have Jeremy Doku to replace the injured forward. Further details will unfold upon the striker’s return to Manchester.
