Bruno Fernandes was Manchester United’s savior again as Ruben Amorim’s side scrape a 3-2 win over newly promoted Burnley. Scott Parker’s side came from behind twice to level the game but it wasn’t meant to be as Amad Diallo had his shirt pulled in the box in the 93rd minute and after a short VAR check, the referee said it had to be a penalty.

Standout performers for the Reds included Mbeumo who got his first United goal. Mount had brilliant showings with his pressing in the first half when he intercepted a ball from Kyle Walker and got a penalty which was later ruled off by VAR because he was deemed to be tugging at Walker’s jersey.
It was not long after, Walker’s tackle on Dalot was deemed too harsh and the resulting free kick, sent in by Bruno, met the head of Casemiro who directed it goalwards but struck the crossbar. On the rebound, the ball struck Cullen, the Clarets captain and Dubravka’s effort to keep it out weren’t enough.
The second half started but it was Burnley who had the momentum and in the 55th minute, Foster met Larsen’s cross and the game was level again. But at the restart, Bayindir distribution to Dalot was one of the finest moments for United. Dalot who had a 7.4 rating whisked the ball into the area and Mbeumo slotted it in calmly. Parity was restored when Anthony for Burnley got his name on the score sheet.
It looked like both teams were going to settle for a draw until Amad’s shirt was pulled for a penalty which Bruno put past Dubravka.
Could this be the turnaround Amorim needed or are they giving their fans a false sense of hope?
